Thangkas are traditional artwork following the Buddhist Philosophy. The word “Thangka” comes from an old Tibetan word and is made up of two syllables. “Thang” means plain cotton cloth and “Ka or Ku” means deity. In order to paint a Thangka, it must be done on a cotton canvas.
